Tulum Yucatan Mexico Hotels & Resorts
Tulum lies south of Playa del Carmen, with lush, bougainvillea-filled jungle at its back. The town of 10,000 is divided into three separate sections, the Mayan ruins, the hotel zone and the pueblo. Popular with tour buses from Cancun, the ruins, some of the best preserved in the Yucatan, perch on cliffs along the coast. Those staying in Tulum can easily bike around, or explore swimming opportunities off white sand beaches and in subterranean sinkholes.
Cancun South - Cancun South - Just about everything you'd want to know about places such as Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and other areas south of Cancun.
Tulum has an interesting cultural blend, combining traditional Mayan families with recent newcomers, mostly from Europe (especially Italy) and North America.
For this reason, Italian restaurants abound in Tulum and the Riviera Maya, and nighlife attractions include such imports as flamenco dancing.
On the other hand, the traditional Mayan church can be found in the Cancha Maya, one of the main plazas in Tulum pueblo. Many local spas offer treatments inspired by Mayan herbal knowledge, or even treatments performed by local Mayan shamen and healers.
The Casa de la Cultura in Tulum pueblo is a great place to see local talent.
